Career changes happen. People suffer a job loss, experience technology shifts or become bored with their jobs. Stay-at-home moms and dads might seek opportunities where they can work from home or have more flexible hours. Or they may have been home with the kids for years and need additional training or education to re-enter the workforce.

If you’re thinking about a career change, investigate your options. Iowa has many outstanding colleges and universities with programs and career counseling to meet your needs.

Other options for retraining are available through the Iowa Workforce Development and the AARP (The American Association for Retired People).

There may also be tuition assistance for your retraining efforts. Consult the financial aid office for the college or university you want to attend. Also check the U.S. government’s tuition assistance information.
