You can book a commercial flight into eight airports in Iowa. Access to Iowa is also available via the Quad City International Airport in Moline, Illinois, and Eppley Airfield in Omaha, Nebraska.
Prefer ground travel? Amtrak provides service to seven towns in the southern part of the state: Burlington, Creston, Davenport, Fort Madison, Mount Pleasant, Osceola, and Ottumwa. Greyhound makes 30 Iowa stops.
If you’re traveling by car, you might want to plan a leisurely excursion through the small, friendly towns along one of Iowa’s Scenic Byways.
Planning a bicycle trip? Iowa’s many trails are mapped out for you.
For overnight lodging, try a bed & breakfast, campground, or hotel. You’ll find each place has its own distinctive flavor. Our iGuide has plenty of options.
Interested in ecotourism? Each year, Project AWARE organizes a fun, yet strenuous, week-long river clean-up. Volunteers paddle down an approximately 100-mile stretch of Iowa river, removing debris as they go. You can volunteer for the entire seven days, or just a portion of it.
