There’s no shortage of great Iowa accommodations for vacations, business trips, weekend getaways, sporting events, weddings or family reunions. Choose from more than 100 quaint bed and breakfasts or stay at one of our grand historic hotels or modest motels. Be close to the gaming action at our casino hotels or “rough it” at our state-run lakeside resort.

Resorts with water parks are popular destinations for families. These include Kings Pointe Resort in Storm Lake, which features both an indoor and outdoor water park, Fun City in Burlington, or the Grand Harbor Resort in Dubuque.

The state-run Honey Creek Resort State Park on Rathbun Lake, near Moravia, also has an indoor water park, plus an 18-hole golf course. In addition to standard hotel rooms, visitors can rent one- to four-bedroom cabins.

From converted barns to old farmhouses, peace and tranquility are your travel partners in Iowa’s bed & breakfasts. Learn more from the  Iowa bed and breakfast Guild or search our iGuide.  Some unique spots include the Mont Rest Inn, Bellevue, which sits high on a bluff and provides commanding views of the Mississippi River from its wrap-around porches, or take in a murder mystery dinner at The Lion and The Lamb Bed & Breakfast in Vinton.

Some of Iowa’s casinos have accomodations too. There’s the Isle of Capri Casino in Bettendorf and the Riverside’s Casino and Golf Resort, which has a spa,  entertainment, dining and golf.

The Hotel Fort Des Moines, listed on the National Register of Historic places, for decades has been visited by soon-to-be presidents during their race to the White House. Aviation pioneer Charles Lindbergh spent a night at the hotel.
